ACCT 567 Government and Not For Profit Accounting, Full course for Keller Students
This course introduces the core concepts and tools of accounting, reporting, and financing for accounting and financial managers of governmental and not-for-profit organizations. Topics, that will be presented from a practitioner perspective include: transaction analysis, dual track approach, financial reporting and analysis, and budgeting. Functional areas of accounting such as financial reporting and governmental accounting are developed with reference to the current FASB and GASB pronouncements. In addition, standards which have been promulgated from the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB) and the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) are reviewed and evaluated.
