This assignment will be the culmination of your team’s efforts this session. The goal of the Team Presentation is to highlight the key components of your arguments, detail your recommendations, and illustrate the cohesion amongst the team. This is a team assignment.

For this assignment, you will create a 20- to 25-minute presentation consisting of well-designed and visually appealing professional slides, accompanied by an audiovisual presentation (your instructor will provide specific instructions and resources). Team members should place their names at the bottom of their completed slides, and they are responsible for explaining their slides during the presentation. Although you will complete this assignment as a team, each team member must submit a copy of the assignment.

The Team Presentation should include the following components.

  • Title slide with team member introductions
  • Outline slide to provide a scope of the argument
  • Introduction slide to introduce key framing ideas
  • Argument/Thesis slide to represent the core argument and frame the presentation
  • Section slides (multiple slides per team member) where each team member will present multiple slides to summarize the research and provide analysis to support the team argument
  • Recommendation slide(s) to provide potential solutions to the investigated problems
  • Conclusion slide to summarize the argument and provide opportunities for continued engagement with the topic
  • Reference slide(s) to highlight key sources and reinforce credibility
  • Visual aids/multimedia strategically used to highlight and enhance content

As you plan out your slides, you will also need to think about ways to streamline the style of the presentation and create cohesion between the various presenters. Here are some tips for making your presentation both engaging and unified.

  1. Select a slide background and font that is simple and easy to read.
  2. Limit animations and sounds and opt for simple visual transitions to help create cohesion between slides.
  3. Create a structure for team member section slides to promote a unified design.
  4. Strategically use visual aids and multimedia to enhance content and promote strong slide design.
  5. Check for consistency in font, style, and layout.
  6. Outline presentation transitions to fluidly move from one topic and presenter to another.

This assignment is worth 100 points. See the Grading Rubric below.
