Who are the stakeholders most relevant to your P-Plan?  Do you think that the “general public” is a valid stakeholder? Or is this too large of a group?

It’s often the case that this primary stakeholder isn’t the direct target of your organization, but rather a related person or entity with similar goals. Your stakeholders may not be obvious, but they’ll naturally arise when you see who has shown interest in your area. You will even find in some cases that a tool kit for assessing stakeholders also is presented to help executives identify their institutions’ key stakeholders, determine the power of these stakeholders and their core values, and define who within their institutions should be responsible for the routine management of different stakeholders.

If you don’t focus on the relationships that matter most, management and staff will be running in all directions, not meeting anyone’s needs very well. So how do you produce a shorter, more coherent list?  Do you believe it is important to know what role each stakeholder plays in this industry?

The public sector is a great stakeholder. The reason being that there is always support you can count on. Multiple people share the same perspective as you and assist you on your cause. That makes planning easier because you know what help you can rely on. At the same time, the public sector is too large and has people with different view. That means that you must take out time to educate and tell many on why certain things have to happen a certain way. The time that is taken to inform people is the time that could be used for research and other resource purposes. The public sector is a win/ lose situation…

Not all marketing has to be expensive. Share some examples of low-budget marketing tools you have used (or seen used) by governmental, nonprofit, or public health organizations.  What are some of the difficulties that public sector organizations run into when it comes to marketing?

A marketing budget is a guide to ensure that you are staying on target with estimated costs vs. the actual costs. However many companies tend to under spend on marketing, thinking that by not spending they are saving. But by not spending on marketing, they are missing out on an enormous amount of business. What things should your team consider when creating a marketing budget? How much should you spend?

Do you think it matters how good you are at social media and/or advertising and marketing? What gets people coming back and becoming loyal customers?

One of the most common factors that caused a problem in the public sector is funds availability of money/cash for a project. The government and all entities within it run on a specific budget. This gets more complicated, especially for a nonprofit organization. The Public sector is based on my knowledge of nothing less than a nonprofit organization. That means there is only a certain amount of money available to do the work. That means the overall plan structure must be followed to the slightest detail. If something interferes with, the plans that the whole structure must be changed and that in return will require time and money to be fixed…
